Theme Housing

Theme Housing

Students reside in theme houses for the purpose of bonding around a common theme and sharing their enthusiasm with the campus community. Each house, its theme and amenities are unique. There is a Residence Life staff member assigned to each house who, in addition to fulfilling administrative tasks, is responsible for building community through programming and advocating for their community’s needs and interests. A faculty or staff member at W&L who embraces the theme also serves as an adviser to each theme house.

Whether it’s community service, language and culture, sustainability or a deep-seated love of outdoor recreation, you can find yourself a true home at W&L. The great thing about the houses in place today is that they were started by passionate students looking for a deeper sense of community.
